Instead, we will be utilizing the Open Source Blender 3D content creation suite to develop and import assets into our Unreal project. In continuing the Open Source ecosystem of this project we will not be relying on propitiatory Autodesk products (with all due respect). However, for the sake of convenience and simplicity, we’ll be using Ubuntu’s most current LTS (Long Term Support) version. As previously noted building from source removes such limitations so you could use just about any modern Linux-based distro. ![]() Technically speaking it’s not entirely necessary to use this version of Ubuntu, or Ubuntu at all. ![]()
